The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) said it will use the 2026 edition of Insurance Week, scheduled for May 15–26, to educate the public, particularly young people, about the importance of insurance in everyday life.
The institute added that, as the second installment of the series, this year’s Insurance Week will also target primary‑school pupils, presenting insurance concepts in an engaging and enjoyable manner.
The CIIN President noted that every CIIN chapter nationwide is taking part at the same time, creating the most geographically inclusive insurance‑awareness campaign ever conducted in Nigeria.
“This is not just a celebration. It is a call to action. Without insurance, our economy remains vulnerable and our people less secure. We have no choice but to deepen penetration and broaden participation — and Insurance Week is our vehicle for doing so.” Ilori stated.
She said the 2026 edition carries the theme “Insurance: A Future Redefined.”
She explained that the theme reflects a strong institutional belief that the future of insurance in Nigeria is not merely approaching; it is being actively shaped right now.
