Fulham will not exercise the option to sign Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent basis from AC Milan, Completesports.com reports.

The Nigeria international joined the Cottagers on a season‑long loan last summer, with the club holding an option to make the move permanent for €24 million.

According to Tuttomercato, Chukwueze is set to return to the San Siro after Fulham decided against activating the option to sign him permanently.

Earlier reports suggested that the Premier League club was willing to pay the required fee to secure Chukwueze on a permanent transfer.

The winger contributed three goals and four assists for Fulham during the 2025/26 season.

Difficult AC Milan Stint

The 27‑year‑old joined AC Milan from Spanish club Villarreal in 2023.

Chukwueze endured a challenging spell with the former European champions before heading to Fulham on loan.

Chukwueze Faces Uncertain Future

Chukwueze now faces an uncertain future at the San Siro, with a new coach set to take charge of the club.

He still has two years left on his current contract with the club.

AC Milan endured a demanding campaign, finishing fifth in Serie A and missing out on a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The disappointing campaign sparked a major shake‑up at the club, leading to the exit of the entire front office, including manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The Serie A heavyweights are expected to name a new manager within the next few days.

Reports indicate that former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has emerged as AC Milan’s top choice for the managerial position.
