Chelle Outlines Strategy Ahead of Portugal Friendly Match

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has said he will make significant changes to the squad for the upcoming friendly against Portugal.

The Nigerian side will play La Seleção in a warm‑up match on Wednesday at Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, Portugal.

Chelle’s team drew 2‑2 with Poland in their recent international friendly in Warsaw, a match that lasted 90 minutes.

Only captain Wilfred Ndidi and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye completed the full game.

The Malian coach assured that the approach for the Portugal fixture would mirror that used against Poland.

“The approach will be similar because, as I mentioned, my players are out of shape. Why do we need these two matches in the middle of the summer holidays…,” Chelle told sportowefakty.wp.pl.
