Catholic priest Fada Angelo Chidi Unegbu said that Nnamdi Kanu, the convicted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), warned Nigerians about terrorism before the security crisis intensified, but his warnings were ignored.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Friday, Fada Angelo, who referred to Kanu as a prophet, expressed regret that his warning had not been taken seriously.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu warned us. The people prayed for a prophet. A prophet was sent, but they did not recognize him,” he said.

The cleric claimed that those who dismissed Kanu’s warning about the country’s escalating violence are now “praying for a messiah to deliver them from insecurity, terrorism, and oppression.”

“Yet perhaps the answer they seek has already been placed before them.”

Fada Angelo stated that “no one is coming to save us from these present security challenges. We are the ones we have been waiting for.”

He urged Nigerians to “stand together in courage, unity, and purpose”, adding that “when the people unite, fear loses its grip, and darkness gives way to light.”

“Our liberation begins the day we choose to stand together. I am happy many brains have been returned to factory settings. That is the first condition.”
