Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that Casemiro will not be available for the club’s final Premier League match against Brighton.

The 34‑year‑old midfielder joined Old Trafford from Real Madrid in 2022 for a fee that could reach £70 million, signing a four‑year contract with an option for a fifth season.

United announced in January that Casemiro would depart when his contract expired, and he has played an influential role in the team’s push to finish third in the league.

In a conversation with the club’s website, Carrick said Casemiro has played his final game for the club.

“Case, I kind of decided last week that would be his last game. That went well as we could have hoped,” Carrick said. “He’s been fantastic. I’ve said a lot about Case; it was decided it could be a good time for him to finish.”

“This club is about bringing young players through, getting the balance right going into games like this, it’s depending on how the game goes to make the most of that. We’ve got some really good young players to take the next step.”
