Bulawus Becomes SDP’s 2027 Governorship Candidate in Zamfara

Alhaji Hamza Musa Mai Bulawus has been selected as the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) candidate for governor of Zamfara State, after winning the party’s primary election unopposed.

The primary was held by direct voting in all 147 wards of the state’s 14 local government areas.

During the exercise, 36,556 votes were reportedly cast in favour of Mai Bulawus.

In Gusau on Tuesday, Bello Hussaini Gusau, the SDP Governorship Primary Election Returning Officer for Zamfara State, announced Mai Bulawus as the winner of the exercise, which was conducted under the authority of the party’s national leadership.

He said the election followed the party’s guidelines to ensure wide participation of members across the state.

According to him, the process was designed to strengthen internal democracy and present a united front ahead of the general elections.

The party confirmed that Mai Bulawus was the sole aspirant in the primary and received overwhelming support from delegates throughout the state.
