BREAKING: Rangers crowned 2025/26 NPFL champions 

Rangers were crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions for the ninth time after a 2‑1 win over Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side started on the front foot, taking the lead through Chidiebere Nwobodo in the first half.

Nwobodo doubled the visitors’ advantage ten minutes into the second half.

Ikorodu City, who also needed a win to improve their chances of qualifying for continental competition, narrowed the gap when Moses Ali scored two minutes before the hour mark.

Rivers United finished second after a 3‑0 home victory over Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Chijioke Mbaoma provided a brace for Rivers United, while Aniekeme Okon added the third goal.
