Boniface Bags Brace, Tella Scores As Leverkusen Thrash Lower Division Side 7-0 In First Pre-season Game

Victor Boniface returned a long injury spell last campaign and bagged a brace in Bayer Leverkusen’s 7-0 win against German fifth division side, Sportfreunde Baumberg in their first pre-season game on Saturday.

Also on target for Leverkusen was Boniface’s Nigerian teammate Nathan Tella.

Boniface came off the bench to put Leverkusen 4-0 up in the 49th minute before adding the fifth goal just four minutes later.

Tella, who also came on in the second half, then got the seventh goal in the 67th minute.
