Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP militants are reported to have set fire to several schools, including primary and secondary institutions, in Borno State.
The blaze occurred in Kautikari village, within the Chibok local government area.
The incident follows a few weeks after students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira‑Uba were abducted and remained missing for nearly a month.
Security officials say the assailants entered the town, which has endured multiple attacks, around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
No casualties have been reported, but residents fled into the bush to seek safety.
A resident recalled that the village had been attacked months earlier, but no public or private property was destroyed at that time.
State authorities had not yet confirmed the incident when this report was filed.
