Bodejo Withdraws from Taraba Senatorial Race

Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, who had been seeking the Taraba Central Senatorial District seat, has formally withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial contest ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He has also voiced support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, and Senator Haruna Manu in their respective campaigns.

The decision was announced on Sunday by the Director‑General of Bodejo’s campaign council, Alhaji Adamu Isa. Isa said that Bodejo had instructed his supporters to rally behind the trio in the 2027 elections so they could continue delivering democratic dividends to the people of Taraba State and Nigeria as a whole.

According to Isa, Bodejo’s intention to run for the senatorial seat was never meant to antagonise anyone; rather, it was aimed at contributing to the ongoing development efforts in Taraba Central.

He added that Governor Kefas and Senator Manu had already launched programmes to improve the welfare of the populace and deserved the electorate’s backing in the upcoming elections.

Isa further revealed that Bodejo will remain a loyal APC member, describing him as a founding member who is committed to supporting the party’s success alongside his followers.

Bodejo also stressed that politics should not be treated as a “do‑or‑die affair,” and that he was ready to abide by the rules governing the democratic process.

He urged his supporters to stay calm and to mobilise en masse for the APC during the 2027 general elections.
