Controversial self‑described relationship expert Blessing CEO has responded to the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, who is reported to have died after a battle with stage 4 liver cancer.
Sources indicate the actor died in a Lagos hospital on Monday after quietly fighting the illness for several months.
The news has prompted emotional reactions from fans, colleagues and other public figures in the entertainment industry.
In a post on her Instagram page, Blessing CEO appeared to allude to her earlier controversy over cancer claims while expressing grief over the actor’s passing.
She shared a photograph of the late actor and wrote: “God will punish cancer. We waited for u to show up. You fought silently. Rest in peace.”

Her reaction has sparked further discussion online, especially in light of the controversy surrounding her own cancer claims earlier this year.
In March 2026, Blessing CEO publicly appealed for financial assistance for what she described as stage 4 breast cancer chemotherapy treatment.
The appeal attracted criticism after the Nigerian Medical Association alleged that she had altered another patient’s medical report from Xinus Medical Diagnostics.
The document, reportedly signed by consultant pathologist Dr. O.A. Odigwe, became the focus of public scrutiny when its authenticity was questioned.
During the controversy, social‑media influencer VeryDarkMan submitted a petition, approved by the Inspector‑General of Police, requesting an investigation into the matter.
The recent development surrounding Alex Ekubo’s death has reignited conversations about cancer awareness, public‑health transparency and the emotional impact of terminal illnesses.
