Benue Links seeks public assistance to locate family of deceased passenger

The management of Benue Links has requested public assistance in identifying and locating the relatives of a passenger named Mr. Timothy, who died while traveling on one of its buses from Makurdi to Ihugh.

The transport company said the incident happened on Tuesday as the vehicle neared Ihugh in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.

In a statement issued by the Ihugh‑Vandeikya branch of Benue Links, it was noted that Mr. Timothy boarded a bus in Makurdi and was headed for Korinya, as recorded on the passenger manifest he completed before departure.

Benue Links confirmed that the death was not related to a road traffic accident, stating that there was no collision or other incident involving the bus during the journey.

After the incident, the company deposited the deceased’s remains at a mortuary in Ihugh to preserve them for identification purposes.

The company is asking anyone who may know Mr. Timothy or his family to help notify his relatives and direct them to contact the Benue Links Ihugh‑Vandeikya branch for identification and further arrangements.

The cause of Mr. Timothy’s death has not been disclosed publicly.
