The lawmaker representing Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Aliyu Misau, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
House Speaker Abbas Tajudeen announced the defection during a plenary session on Wednesday.
In a letter, Misau explained that his decision to leave the PDP stemmed from unresolved internal crises and ongoing factionalism within the party.
Daily Post reports that this is the second time in June that a Bauchi federal lawmaker has defected from the PDP to the APM.
Earlier, on June 4, four members of the House from Bauchi State had also left the PDP for the APM.
