Bauchi NUJ Applauds Gov Bala Mohammed for Remodeling Its Secretariat

The Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) praised Governor Bala Mohammed for his dedication to transforming the State Press Centre into a modern facility.

The statement, released by the union’s secretary Isah Garba Gadau, was issued yesterday to congratulate the governor on the seventh anniversary of his tenure.

NUJ highlighted that Governor Mohammed not only approved the construction of the new press centre but also appointed SSG Alhaji Aminu Hammayo to oversee the project and ensure its timely completion.

The statement further expressed gratitude for the administration’s support of the NUJ and the broader media community, particularly the revival of state‑owned media houses, which demonstrates the governor’s commitment to providing a professional environment for journalists.

“Equally commendable is the government’s sponsorship of the first-ever Media Summit hosted by the NUJ Bauchi State Council last year, a landmark event that strengthened capacity, dialogue, and professionalism in our field,” the NUJ added.

Under the leadership of chairman Comrade Umar Sa’idu, the Bauchi State Council congratulated the governor on the significant milestone of seven years in office.

“Seven years of purposeful leadership has left clear footprints across every sector of our dear state. From infrastructure, education, and healthcare to agriculture, rural development, and youth empowerment, your administration’s numerous achievements continue to transform lives and restore confidence in governance. Bauchi people can feel the impact, and the media has a front‑row view of that progress,” the council said.

NUJ wishes Governor Mohammed continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance so that he may deliver further dividends of democracy to the people of Bauchi State before his term ends in 2027.

The statement also commended the governor for allowing state‑owned media to operate independently, including coverage of opposition parties, thereby promoting effective democracy.
