Babachir Lawal Declines to Join, Comparing Atiku to Bandit Leader Kachalla

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has compared former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the bandit kingpin “Kachalla.”

Lawal made the comparison in a Facebook post after announcing his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He said the party’s recently concluded primaries had been manipulated to favor Atiku.

“Concluded primaries were at all levels massively rigged in favour of Kachalla Abubakar Atiku,” Lawal wrote. “I do not intend to be part of Kachalla Atiku’s rigging machine in the 2027 general elections.”

“For me, working for Kachalla Atiku means giving Tinubu an automatic ticket to a second term, which gives me nightmares.”

Lawal added that he would return to his village to focus on farming while consulting with political associates on ways to prevent Atiku from winning the presidency in 2027.
