Nigerian singer Ayra Starr revealed that a lesser‑known aspect of her personality is her strong preference for solitude.

In an interview with Chinasa Anukam on the program Is This Seat Taken (ITST), the artist discussed her character, career goals, and how she defines success.

“Something that will surprise people about me is that I’m very big on spending time alone,” she said.

Although she projects an energetic public persona, Ayra Starr enjoys moments away from the spotlight and values the calm that comes with being alone.

The singer reflected on her professional path, noting that she is steadily achieving the objectives she set for herself.

“I’m kind of doing everything I said I was going to do. I’ve done some of it, and I’m still doing the rest. Success for me is consistently keeping momentum and enjoying it while I’m doing it. It’s like I can’t focus too much on the result,” she explained.

Ayra Starr said her ultimate ambition is to develop a career that showcases her versatility and individuality.

“I want my career to be able to tell that I can and will always exist in multitudes — in different aspects, different genres and different personalities. I want my story to show that there is only one Ayra Starr, and that I did and am doing it the way only Ayra Starr can,” she added.

Describing herself as open and authentic, she concluded: “I wear my heart on my sleeve. What you see is what you get.”
