‘I’ll wear worse’ – Ayra Starr shrugs off backlash over outfit

Singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, known professionally as Ayra Starr, has addressed criticism after a recent outfit sparked online debate for its perceived revealing nature when paired with a traditional gele.

The 23‑year‑old artist made a striking fashion statement at the live event “Part 1 of the Zsongo Experience” held at KOKO London. She combined a traditional Nigerian gele with a contemporary street‑wear style, a look that drew attention when fellow artist Tiwa Savage also appeared unexpectedly.

Following the circulation of photos on social media, Ayra Starr dismissed the backlash, stating she is unfazed by the reactions. In a post on Instagram, she wrote, “Y’all relax in the comments I’ve worn way worse and I’m going to wear wayyy worse so manage your yarns.”

The artist’s response has elicited mixed reactions online; supporters applaud her confidence, while critics continue to question her fashion choices.
