Atiku Wins Imo ADC Presidential Primary, Defeating Amaechi and Hayatu‑Deen

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar won the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary in Imo State, defeating former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and businessman Mohammed Hayatu‑Deen.

The results were announced at the party secretariat in Owerri, where Chairman of the Presidential Primary Election Committee, Eko Atu, described the exercise as peaceful, free and transparent.

According to the committee’s declaration, Atiku received 52,222 votes, while Amaechi polled 7,659 votes. Hayatu‑Deen came in third with 1,121 votes.

Chairman Atu praised party members for their orderly conduct and said the process reflected the democratic ideals of the ADC.
