Atiku Wins ADC Presidential Primary in Abia, Defeating Amaechi

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was declared the winner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary held across wards in Abia State on Monday.

He received 25,153 votes, surpassing his nearest rival, Rotimi Amaechi.

Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State, finished second with 18,339 votes.

Businessman Mohammed Hayatu‑deen placed third, securing 3,264 votes.

The results were announced by Returning Officer Onyebuchi Chukwu.

ADC Publicity Secretary in Abia, Francess Olisa Ogbonnaya, praised the APC members in Arochukwu for their large turnout and peaceful conduct during the primary.

The presidential primary, conducted peacefully in various parts of Abia State, was monitored by security agencies.
