Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, said that presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are reluctant to hear the “good news” about Nigeria’s foreign reserves.

Onanuga reported that Nigeria’s foreign reserves reached $51.04 billion on June 18, the highest level in 17 years.

He added that the reserves were $50.5 billion in January 2009.

In a post on X, Onanuga noted: “Nigeria’s foreign reserves rose to $51.04 billion on June 18, the highest level in 17 years. In January 2009, the reserves stood at $50.5 billion.”

He continued: “This is the good news that Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar and other presidential candidates don’t want to hear.”

“They believe President Tinubu has done nothing since taking office,” he said.

“Nevertheless, the administration’s solid achievements are undeniable.”
