Atiku defeats Amaechi in Anambra ADC presidential primaries

Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been declared the winner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary in Anambra State.

Hon. Nduaka Nwolisa, chairman of the ADC Presidential Primary Election Committee, announced the results on Tuesday in Awka, the state capital.

Atiku received 58,566 votes, the highest tally among the three candidates in the party’s contest.

Rotimi Amaechi came in second with 17,085 votes, while the third candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Hayatudeen, secured 7,861 votes.

“The presidential primary election was held peacefully in Anambra State and was well contested among the three contestants,” Nwolisa said. “Atiku, having recorded the highest number of votes with 58,566 votes, is hereby declared the winner of the Anambra State ADC presidential primary.”
