Former Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has cautioned Arsenal’s David Raya against being sent off in Saturday’s Champions League final against Paris Saint‑Germain.
Lehmann himself was dismissed when the Gunners were beaten 2‑1 by Barcelona in the 2006 final.
Although Sol Campbell gave Arsenal the early lead, late goals from Samuel Eto o and Juliano Belletti secured the La Liga side’s trophy.
Raya is set to start in goal for Mikel Arteta’s team, which aims to win the competition for the first time in its history.
Speaking to the Spaniard during their title lift on Sunday, Lehmann said: “Do us a favour and play 90 minutes, do not get sent off!”
“If you win it, you are giving something back to the fans which we couldn’t,” he added. “I didn’t deliver because I got sent off.”
