Owo/Ose APC Primary: Arobo rejects result, alleges subversion of voters’ will

—-Claims landslide victory

Ghani Rotimi Arobo, a candidate for the Owo/Ose House of Representatives seat in Ondo State, has dismissed the results of the APC primary held last Saturday, calling the outcome an attempt to override the will of the voters.

In a statement, Hon. Ayo Ilevare, Director‑General of the Ghani Rotimi Arobo Campaign Organisation, described the announced results as a “sham deliberately cooked up to subvert the sovereign will of the people.”

“We reject it in its entirety. This is not democracy but an assault on the democratic process,” Ilevare said.

He argued that the outcome contradicted the preferences of party members on the ground, despite the APC national secretariat’s efforts to promote internal democracy.

“To be clear, we had agents across all polling and voting centres. We recorded a landslide, unquestionable victory. The people of Owo/Ose spoke with one voice for renewed hope, genuine representation, and the liberation of our constituency from the current state of helplessness,” he added.

Ilevare accused unnamed individuals of manipulating results and engaging in back‑room deals to impose a predetermined outcome.

He warned that such actions were unlawful, unethical, and undermined democracy.

“No amount of manipulation, result falsification, or back‑room deals will be allowed to truncate or annul that sacred mandate,” he said.

He said the campaign would pursue lawful means to address every questionable vote, altered result sheet, and act that compromised the integrity of the process.

Ilevare urged supporters to remain calm but resolute, stating that the mandate they had given belonged to them and would be defended.

“This is not the end — it is the beginning of a greater awakening. The renewed hope we represent cannot be destroyed by the machinations of a few political undertakers,” he said.

He added that the campaign was encouraged by the solidarity shown across the constituency and praised supporters who came out to vote despite intimidation.

“The people are awake. The people will prevail,” Ilevare said.
