Gunmen believed to be bandits attacked a residential estate in the Ijebu‑Ode area of Ogun State on Monday, abducting three individuals.

The three victims, comprising two women and one man, were identified as family members.

According to DAILY POST, the assailants—estimated at about 15—entered Ipojo Golden Estate in the Oke‑Eri district of the town at roughly 7 p.m., armed with sophisticated weapons.

An eyewitness reported that the attackers forced their way into a house, looted the premises and carried off the three victims.

The head of the family, Yesiru Badewa, was reportedly on official duty elsewhere when the incident occurred.

Speaking to reporters, Badewa expressed distress over the abduction and noted that one of the abducted persons was ill.

“This has devastated us. One of those taken is sick, and we are worried her condition may deteriorate in captivity. We appeal to the authorities and kind‑hearted Nigerians to come to our aid,” he said.

When approached for comment, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on Tuesday.

Babaseyi said the police command has stepped up tactical operations aimed at rescuing the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.

He urged calm and reaffirmed the command’s dedication to combating kidnapping and safeguarding residents and property throughout the state.

Babaseyi stated, “The Ogun State Police Command is aware of the incident at Ipojo Golden Estate, Oke‑Eri, Ijebu Ode, and has intensified tactical and intelligence operations to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.

“The Command remains proactive and committed to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.”
