Senatorial hopeful Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Anambra Central, has urged his supporters to prepare for a hard-fought primary election.

Nwankwo made the remarks after successfully passing the APGA screening process, at a time when party leader and Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has stressed the importance of credible primaries, selecting Option A4 as the election method.

He thanked the APGA Screening Committee for its thorough assessment, noting that the party is known for maintaining high standards.

“I’m not new to my people, and my people are not new to me. I have lived most of my life among them and appreciate their problems. That was one of the chief reasons I set up the Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Foundation years ago, through which I have touched many lives,” Nwankwo said. “I’m ready to do more if given the mandate, but what I’m saying is that all of you must brace up because the primary election will be a tough battle.”

Nwankwo is running for the APGA ticket alongside Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe. They aim to represent Anambra Central, where the incumbent senator from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is Senator Victor Umeh.
