Media personality and Arise News anchor Rufai Oseni has criticized Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, for his recent remarks about Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress.

According to DAILY POST, Obi called on Monday for President Tinubu to follow the example of U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and resign, arguing that the current administration has failed to address the nation’s economic and security crises.

In response, Onanuga issued a statement calling Obi’s position “puerile” and described the former Anambra State governor as “childish.”

During a morning program on Tuesday, Oseni recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had called for a parallel government before 2015, when the party took power.

He said the same maladministration that prompted the APC’s 2014 call is now evident in the Tinubu‑led government.

“Was the APC also childish when it called for the resignation of Goodluck Jonathan? What they said Jonathan should resign for has happened under them too,” Oseni said.

“This was the same APC that called for a parallel government if they didn’t win the 2015 election. Do you know what a parallel government is? That’s anarchy,” he added.

“They didn’t only say it; they defended it on television. So Obi called for resignation and they said it is puerile,” Oseni concluded.
