The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dan Nwanyanwu, has warned that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and supporters of President Bola Tinubu are intent on manipulating the 2027 election and fabricating results.

Nwanyanwu dismissed claims that the outcome of the 2027 presidential election is already determined, stressing that opposition parties will contest the ruling party vigorously.

“I believe they intend to write results. We are prepared; we will provide them with the pen and paper to write the results. We will remain in this country; we are not going anywhere. This election will be competitive. It is not finished,” Nwanyanwu said during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.

His comments come amid intensified political activity as the 2027 general election approaches, with major parties ramping up preparations and forming alliances.

He advised Tinubu to exercise caution regarding what he described as excessive political maneuvers by certain supporters, warning that such actions could damage the Nigerian leader’s public image ahead of the general election.

Nwanyanwu observed that some individuals claiming to support the President are engaging in behaviors that alienate the public and diminish support for Tinubu.

“I believe President Tinubu should exercise caution with some individuals who profess to support him. Their excessive enthusiasm is causing people to lose interest in him,” he remarked.

The presidential aspirant noted that some of Tinubu’s supporters are jeopardizing his re‑election prospects by distancing themselves from Nigerians who previously backed him.

“I am not in a position to advise him since I am also vying for that position, but this situation is rendering him quite unpopular,” he said. “Moreover, there are individuals who initially chose to support Tinubu based on his leadership, but they have since withdrawn their support due to the company he keeps,” he added.
