APC suspends a federal lawmaker and six party officials in Jigawa.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has suspended Hon. Ibrahim Usman, the federal lawmaker who represents Hadejia, Kafin Hausa and Auyo, along with six party officials for alleged anti‑party activities.

The suspension notice was signed by the state APC Chairman, Ahmad Garba MK, and was provided to DAILY POST.

According to the letter, the disciplinary action followed accusations that the individuals’ conduct was detrimental to the unity, stability and interests of the ruling party.

The suspended members are Hon. Ibrahim Usman; Aisha Adamu Auyo (Kande), the State Deputy Women Leader; Yargabi Babannan Auyo, Auyo Ward Women Leader; Musa Idris Zabarau, Auyo Ward Chairman; Ibrahim Ayama, Auyo Local Government Vice Chairman; Saje Hadiyau; and Sani Abdullahi Hadiyau, the Local Government Financial Secretary.

The party said that its State Executive Committee (SEC) received formal complaints from “concerned and loyal party members” about the alleged involvement of these individuals in anti‑party activities during an event held on 26 May 2026 in Auyo Town, Auyo Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The APC alleged that the accused engaged in actions that could bring the party into disrepute, undermine its authority, promote division among members and act in ways prejudicial to the party’s interests.

The SEC noted that, if proven, the alleged conduct would violate Article 21.2(ii), (vi), (vii) and (viii) of the APC Constitution, which prohibit disloyalty, anti‑party activities, conduct likely to embarrass the party and actions capable of causing discord and disaffection among members.

As part of the suspension, the affected individuals are barred from representing themselves as officers, agents or representatives of the party in any capacity. They are also prohibited from attending or participating in party meetings, activities or functions in any official capacity, exercising the powers or privileges attached to their offices, and taking any action that could influence or interfere with the disciplinary process.

The party chairman assured the suspended members that they would receive a fair hearing before the APC Jigawa State Disciplinary Committee.

“They will be afforded a fair hearing and an opportunity to defend themselves in accordance with the party’s constitution and the principles of natural justice,” the statement said.
