APC Senatorial Primary: I Will Take the Case to Court; Tinubu Will Step In — Nwoko

A senior member of the All Progressives Congress, Ned Nwoko, has announced that he will contest the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary in court.

During an interview on Arise Television, Nwoko claimed that he had won the primary based on the results and evidence he says were collected from the wards.

He dismissed the declaration that former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had won the senatorial primary, arguing that the announced results did not match the actual votes cast.

According to Nwoko, midway through the primary, party officials instructed that ward results should not be announced immediately.

He said the officials also directed that the results be collated and announced later at the national headquarters in Abuja.

“We have submitted them. Halfway through the primary, we got a message on our phones that no results should be announced at the ward level; they should be collected and then announced later at the national level in Abuja,” he said. “And so, we thought we’d be law‑abiding. Suddenly, we saw some news. We saw only that one video of one of the wards in Ika North East. I will go to court and I believe that President Bola Tinubu will wade into the matter,” he added.
