In the Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency of Katsina State, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have selected former Commissioner for Environment Hamza Sule Faskari as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general elections.

The decision was announced at a stakeholders’ rally in Kankara on Saturday, where party leaders and members confirmed the choice made by the constituency consensus committee.

Stakeholders said the selection represents the collective view of APC members across the 31 wards that comprise the three local government areas of the constituency.

They explained that the consensus was reached after consultations among party leaders, ward representatives, and other stakeholders, taking into account Faskari’s political experience, popularity, acceptability, and record of public service.

During the event, Deputy Governor of Katsina State Faruk Lawal Jobe praised the consensus committee, chaired by former Deputy Governor Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, for conducting a thorough process. Jobe urged aspirants who were not chosen to accept the outcome in good faith and to support the party’s success in the upcoming elections.

In his acceptance speech, Faskari thanked party leaders and stakeholders for their confidence and called for unity among APC members. He also urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards before the elections.
