The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced that it has screened 114 aspirants who intend to run for seats in the State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The statement was made shortly after the party concluded its screening exercise in Gusau.

Party spokesperson in the state, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, said the aspirants are competing for the 24 constituencies that make up the Zamfara State House of Assembly on the APC platform.

He noted that 105 aspirants participated in the screening, while nine individuals who had purchased nomination forms were absent.

Birnin Magaji added that the party had previously notified all aspirants to attend the screening and that the process remains open for those who have not yet appeared.

“We have sent out announcements and invitations to these aspirants to show up for the exercise,” he said.

The spokesperson explained that the screening committee is still evaluating the candidates and will inform them of the results once the assessment is complete.

“We are in the process of clearing those who have no problems, so at the end of the exercise those who are without any blemish will know, and those with one or two issues to clear will know,” he added.
