Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State gathered at 332 polling wards across the state to elect the party’s presidential candidate during the primary election.
The primary was held simultaneously in all wards, although some experienced delays while others began early.
In wards observed in Osogbo, Olorunda, Boripe, and Irewole, senior party figures lined up to be counted by electoral officers.
In Ward One of Boripe Local Government Area, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Gboyega Oyetola led the queue of party chiefs and members. In Irewole Local Government Area, APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji headed the line with other party leaders.
At Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area, Sunday Akere, the Osun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassador, guided numerous party stalwarts to the polling wards to choose between President Bola Tinubu and Mr. Stanley Osogbo.
Speaking to reporters, Akere said that members from all 332 wards participated in the exercise to ensure President Tinubu became the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
He added that Renewed Hope Ambassador coordinators across the 30 local government council areas serve as the president’s polling agents, while Minister Oyetola, the state collation officer, will oversee the collation process in the state.
“The Presidential Primary held in Osun State today proceeded smoothly without any crisis. The materials from the primary election committee were transported to the various local governments and wards on time,” Akere said. “All party members mobilised to all 332 wards to queue for our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the candidate of the party for the 2027 election.”
