Odigbo youths, women warn against tampering with results

By Dayo Johnson Akure

Youths and women of the All Progressives Congress in Odigbo have called on the party leadership not to tamper with the outcome of the House of Representatives primary held last Saturday.

The supporters converged on Odigbo, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area, insisting that the votes cast must be protected and the will of APC members across the constituency respected.

Most of them backed aspirant Simisola Fajemirokun Ajayi.

They alleged attempts to suppress and manipulate the exercise despite what they described as massive support across the wards.

Ajayi said the turnout showed the genuine passion of party members who participated.

“There were reports of suppression across different wards, and it was very clear that our people came out en masse,” she said.

“These people are not rented crowds. They are genuine APC members who believe in democracy and want their voices heard.

“Though the results have not been announced, it’s important to protect the votes of young people, women, and all the people of Odigbo who came out for me.”

Ajayi noted that confusion around the collation process raised concerns among supporters and party agents, many of whom stayed on ground to monitor developments and safeguard the election’s integrity.

She expressed confidence in the party leadership and Ondo State governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to ensure justice and fairness in handling the results.

“We trust that the leadership of our great party and the governor will ensure that the mandate of the people is protected.

” We also believe strongly in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s democratic ideals that the will of the people must prevail,” she said.

Ajayi said her supporters would pursue grievances peacefully and through legitimate channels if necessary, stressing their commitment to party unity and progress.

On her plans for the constituency, she said her ambition is to unlock economic prosperity through youth empowerment, support for small businesses, and agricultural development.

She disclosed that plans are underway to establish a N100 million empowerment fund for youths and entrepreneurs.

“Odigbo is blessed with enormous resources, from rubber plantations to palm oil production and energetic young people. Our focus is to create opportunities, empower our people, and ensure prosperity for all. End
