The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, said that President Bola Tinubu is pleased with the party’s primaries nationwide.
Yilwatda made the comments on Wednesday night while speaking to reporters after meeting the president in Lagos.
He highlighted that the recent internal processes demonstrate the APC’s competitive nature, with many candidates contesting a limited number of positions across Nigeria.
According to Yilwatda, the high level of interest reflects the party’s wide reach and acceptance within Nigerian communities.
He added that aspiring leaders see the APC as their first choice, and he thanked Nigerian citizens and supporters for their involvement.
The APC National Chairman noted that the exercises were carried out with discipline, resulting in few complaints and a near‑perfect execution.
Daily Post reports that the APC has begun primaries for various elective positions ahead of the next year’s general elections.
“The President was very impressed with the logistics we deployed across the country and the tactics we’ve used,” Yilwatda said. “He has also been very impressed with the reduced number of incidents that we have across the country. He’s happy with what we’re doing,” he added.
