The Migili Traditional Council (MTC), headed by Zhe Migili and Dr. Ayuba Agwadu, together with the Migili Cultural Development Association (MCDA) leadership, has urged Governor Abdullahi Sule and APC standard‑bearer Senator Ahmed Wadada to select a 2027 gubernatorial running mate from the Migili ethnic group.

The request was formalized in a statement signed by MCDA National President Dr. Abu Isaac Ishaq at the Nasarawa State capital, Lafia.

Dr. Ishaq noted that the Migili/Koro people are distributed across five local government areas—Lafia, Doma, Obi, Awe and Keana—totaling a voting population of more than 50,000.

He expressed concern that, despite consistently voting as a bloc since the return to democracy in 1999, the Migili/Koro community has been excluded from key positions, including the deputy governorship.

The statement also highlighted that the Migili people were the original settlers of the Lafia division, underscoring the case for their inclusion as the APC running mate in the 2027 governorship election.

According to the statement, “We have gone round pleading and soliciting for support from our brothers.”

“This is the Migili project. For the first time, the Migili Traditional Council, the Cultural Development Association, and the Youth Council have united to fight for this.”

The statement further described the Migili/Koro as a peaceful, law‑abiding, and organized community, urging the Nasarawa State government—under Governor Sule—to consider them for the deputy governorship slot.
