APC members storm ward collation for primaries

On Saturday, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered in several political wards across the state to participate in the House of Representatives party primaries.

The primaries began at about noon, with supporters of various candidates in all 30 local government areas awaiting the arrival of the primary committee.

At the collation centre for Ward 3 in Apoun, Osogbo, local party members lined up to support their chosen aspirants.

Similarly, at Ward 8 in Olorunda, members waited for the committee’s arrival before the voting could commence.

APC youth leader Kehinde Lawal, stationed in Ward 8, said the process would remain peaceful even though tensions had risen between supporters of Ibrahim Taofeek and Afees Durojaiye.

“Once the committee gets to the venue, the exercise will take off, and I can assure you that it will be peaceful,” he said.
