The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections had not begun in many parts of Adamawa State by Saturday afternoon.

During a visit by DAILY POST between 2 and 3 pm, no elections of any kind were underway in three wards of the Yola North Local Government Area, the state’s capital. Neither polling officials nor voters were present, and it appeared unlikely that APC‑registered members would turn out even if officers arrived later.

The atmosphere was discouraging. Sources outside the capital confirmed that no primary elections were taking place elsewhere in the state.

This situation stands in contrast to earlier assurances from a supervisory committee dispatched from Abuja. The committee, led by Professor Ahmed Shehu, had promised aspirants and the broader APC community that it would work diligently to ensure a credible exercise.

During its briefing, the committee admitted that a key piece of electoral material had not arrived in Yola until Saturday morning, but it had not yet addressed the reality of non‑voting at the designated polling venues when this report was completed.
