Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, faced another setback when the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives screening committee disqualified three incumbent members who are loyal to him from contesting the primaries held on Saturday, May 15.
In contrast, the committee cleared all supporters of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, including Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule, from participating in the same primaries.
The decision was announced in an APC list that details which House of Representatives aspirants were screened and disqualified.
Disqualified Governor Fubara loyalists:
Hon. Anderson Allison – Okrika/Ogu/Bolo Constituency
Hon. Abiante Awaji Imombek – Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Constituency
Hon. Boma Goodhead – Asari‑Toru/Akuku‑Toru Constituency
Cleared Wike allies:
Hon. Hart Cyril Godwin – Bonny/Degema Constituency
Hon. Blessing Chisery Amadi – Port Harcourt Constituency
Hon. Dumnamene R. Detor – Gokana/Khana Constituency
Hon. Martin Amaewhule – Obio/Akpor Constituency (replacing O.K. Chinda, who purchased APC governorship forms)
Hon. Solomon Bob – Ahoada West/Ogba‑Egbema‑Ndoni Constituency
Hon. Uche Felix Nwaeke – Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Constituency
Hon. Victor Chukwuemele Obuzor – Ahoada West/Ogba‑Egbema‑Ndoni Constituency
Additional allies of the minister were also cleared to replace the three disqualified representatives.
