The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed Hon. Akintunde Rotimi as the winner of the Oye‑Ikole Federal Constituency primary election, receiving a total of 7,483 votes.
Rotimi, the incumbent member of parliament for the constituency, was declared the victor on Wednesday night by Asipa Wasiu Adebanjo, the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee and Chief Returning Officer.
He defeated his main rival, Bimbo Daramola, who garnered 5,209 votes in the fiercely contested primary held on Saturday.
The election had earlier been declared inconclusive by the committee, which said that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) would make a final decision after resolving disputes that arose during the process.
Asipa explained that the final result was released following consultations and a comprehensive review in line with APC internal guidelines.
