NSUKKA — Dr. Ben Nwoye, the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that the party is fully prepared to secure victory in the Enugu North Senatorial District by‑election scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Speaking to journalists in Nsukka on Friday, Nwoye, who previously served as APC Chairman in Enugu State, expressed confidence in the party’s candidate, Ikeje Asogwa, describing him as a standout contender in the race.
He highlighted Asogwa’s credibility and experience, noting that the candidate is well‑suited to represent the district effectively in the National Assembly.
According to Nwoye, the APC has intensified mobilisation efforts across the senatorial district in the run‑up to the election, with party leaders already on the ground to ensure a strong voter turnout.
“We are fully prepared for this election,” he said, adding that the party has been engaging stakeholders and supporters throughout the district.
Nwoye also conveyed the party’s confidence in the acceptability of its candidate, pointing out that Asogwa has demonstrated leadership qualities and enjoys robust support within the party structure.
He further argued that the zoning arrangement in Enugu State favours the candidate’s local government area, Igbo‑Eze South.
The APC chieftain urged voters to turn out in large numbers and support the party in the by‑election, stressing that it offers effective representation for the district.
