The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Oyo State has confirmed that none of its governorship aspirants have been disqualified ahead of the party’s gubernatorial primary scheduled for tomorrow.

This statement followed widespread speculation that former Minister of Power and prominent hopeful Chief Adebayo Adelabu had been excluded from the contest.

At the APC Secretariat in Oke‑Ado, Ibadan, Chairman of the APC House of Assembly/Governorship Primaries Election Committee, Taofeek Olawale Abdulsalam, addressed journalists on Wednesday, dismissing the rumours and affirming that all duly registered aspirants remain eligible to contest.

Abdulsalam, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, assured party members that the primary would be conducted peacefully and orderly.

“We have been here since yesterday, and we are satisfied with what we have seen so far. Tomorrow will be a better day for APC members in Oyo State,” he said.

He explained that the committee’s role is limited to conducting the primary and collating results, which will then be forwarded to the party’s national secretariat for official announcement.

“We have no power to announce the results. At the end of the primaries, our responsibility is to forward the results to the national headquarters of the party for announcement,” Abdulsalam stated.

He also noted that a Monitoring Committee has been established to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the exercise.

In a related development, Ayo Afolabi, Chairman of the APC Primaries Election Monitoring Committee in the state, reassured members that the primaries would be comprehensively monitored and that the electoral process would be credible.
