APC’s Faduyile predicts victory, commends peaceful poll

AKURE — Prof. Dayo Faduyile, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Ondo South Senatorial District by‑election, said he is confident of winning, drawing on encouraging reports from polling units and the peaceful nature of the vote.

He made the remarks soon after voting at Ward 6, Unit 5, LA Primary School in Ode Ikoya, Okitipupa Local Government Area.

He described the initial assessment of the election as encouraging, noting that reports from several polling units showed strong backing for the APC.

“The assessment is a great one. We have received a lot of information from polling units across the district and it has been very favourable,” he said.

He praised Independent National Electoral Commission officials for their prompt deployment and professionalism, observing that electoral staff had arrived early at their assigned posts.

“The INEC staff reported promptly at their duty posts. We are not hearing of any security breach and the people are coming out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. We are very positive that we are going to have a very good election,” he stated.

He also commended voters for their peaceful behaviour and expressed satisfaction with the security situation throughout the senatorial district.

“The security situation in this part of the state has been peaceful. I do not expect any security breach. The people love themselves irrespective of political divides, and there are no areas of concern so far,” he said.

He further lauded security agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for upholding law and order during the exercise.

“I must give credit to the security agencies. I have seen officers of the Nigeria Police, NSCDC and other security outfits manning strategic locations. The people have also conducted themselves well, so I am confident there will be no security breach,” he added.

He assured constituents that, if elected, he would offer inclusive, people‑oriented representation in the Senate.
