The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formed a seven‑member Presidential Primary Election Committee in preparation for its upcoming presidential primary, set for Saturday.

The announcement was made in a notice released by APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.
The party also revealed the makeup of a Presidential Primary Election Appeal Committee, headed by former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari.
Samuel Piwuna will act as secretary of the appeal committee, while former House of Representatives Speaker Patricia Olubunmi Etteh has been named as a member.
To support the exercise, the APC has deployed 37 coordinators and collation officers across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Appointed coordinators include Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for Imo, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for Kwara, and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for Borno.
Additional coordinators are Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Speaker Yakubu Dogara for Bauchi, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu for Abia, and former Senator Phillip Aduda for the Federal Capital Territory.
The APC states that the presidential primary will be held simultaneously across the country’s 8,809 wards, with delegates selecting the party’s candidate for the 2027 general election.
Political observers view the exercise as a likely step to reinforce support for the current administration.
