Ancelotti comments on Mourinho’s potentialreturn to Real Madrid

Brazilian head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence that José Mourinho would perform well should he return as Real Madrid manager.

Speaking to The Athletic, Ancelotti said the 63‑year‑old is the appropriate figure to restore order at the Bernabéu.

Mourinho is widely expected to depart Benfica this summer and rejoin Los Blancos.

Ancelotti, who famously secured Real’s ‘La Décima’ Champions League title after replacing Mourinho in 2013, said, “If he returns to Real Madrid, I will be very happy for him.

“He can do a fantastic job, as he has consistently demonstrated at every club he has managed.”
