The lawmakers confirmed the appointments at 3:38 pm after the screening committee, chaired by Hon. Noble Igwe of Ogbaru 1, presented its report.
Before the new commissioners were sworn in, Speaker Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze urged them to exercise prudence in their duties.
“If Anambra will be a destination, I want all of us to work together. It is a new beginning from today in the state. Leadership is a responsibility, and as you assume office, it exists on the table. Every decision you make must answer the question, how does it improve the lives of the people? You must always make yourselves accessible to the people,”
Meanwhile, Governor Soludo has forwarded a second batch of nominees to the assembly for confirmation.
The new list names Arc. Henry Arinze as Commissioner Designate for Housing; Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu as Commissioner Designate for Commerce; and Dr. Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme as Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA).
These names were read by Speaker Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze during Wednesday’s plenary and referred to the Committee on Screening and Election Matters for further consideration.
