Nigeria’s sprint hurdling star and world 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan, brightened the atmosphere in Team Nigeria’s camp ahead of the kickoff of the 2026 Commonwealth Games after arriving to a warm reception at the special training base in Aberdeen, Scotland, on Thursday, Completesports.com reports.

Amusan Confident Team Nigeria Will Deliver Medal Success

The sprint hurdles star expressed confidence that Team Nigeria will perform strongly at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, while commending the camping and training arrangements put in place by the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

NSC Director General Bukola Olopade’s Special Assistant on Media, Kola Daniel, told Completesports.com that Amusan, one of Nigeria’s strongest medal prospects, is expected to add to her impressive collection of medals from previous international competitions.

“I am optimistic that Team Nigeria will haul medals at these Games, judging by the expressions on the faces of my fellow athletes and the atmosphere in camp. With God on our side, we hope to finish among the best at the end of the Games,” Kola Daniel quoted Amusan as saying.

Aberdeen Camp Provides World-Class Preparation

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has camped Team Nigeria at a high-performance training facility in Aberdeen to expose the athletes to world-class facilities and a conducive environment ahead of the Games.
