Operatives of the Amotekun Corps rescued eight kidnapped victims in Ondo State following a successful operation against their abductors.
Akogun Adeleye, the Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, disclosed the rescue in a statement, noting that the victims were freed without any ransom being paid.
He said that several of the victims had been taken from the Ilado community in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
One of the rescued individuals, Fagbonmire Durojaiye, is a pastor and teacher who serves with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Adeleye added that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N30 million for the victims before their release was secured.
The Commander further revealed that the operation included a gun battle between the kidnappers and Amotekun operatives before the victims were successfully freed.
