Alonso Chooses Real Madrid Star to Sign for Chelsea

The newly appointed Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso, wants to bring a player from his former club, Real Madrid, to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

Alonso will take over the managerial role at Chelsea on 1 July.

He has signed a four‑year contract with the club and is expected to play a major part in player recruitment throughout his tenure.

According to SPORTBible, Alonso is keen to reconnect with a Real Madrid player. The Spanish manager reportedly keeps in regular contact with Turkish midfielder Arda Güler and hopes to sign him.

Güler was a key member of Alonso’s squad during his time at Madrid, featuring in 25 matches this season alone, after making only 24 appearances in the two previous seasons.

In a recent interview with Turkish media outlet TRT Spor, Güler expressed his support for Alonso following his appointment as Chelsea manager, stating:

“The truth is that we had a brilliant relationship. I felt as though he’d handed me the keys.”

“It was exactly what I was looking for, honestly. Now he’s signed for Chelsea. I hope everything goes well for him. Of course, we’re still messaging each other.”

Güler is estimated to be valued at approximately €90 million. However, for Chelsea to secure his transfer from Real Madrid, they would need to invest over €100 million, as the Turkish international is contracted with Los Blancos until 2029.
