Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, has denied that he is under investigation or that a court has ordered his arrest for alleged certificate forgery.
In a statement released on Monday and signed by his spokesperson, Robert Ngwu, the former minister called reports of a court‑issued arrest order “false and misleading,” claiming they are part of a campaign to tarnish his reputation.
Nnaji insisted that he is not in hiding and that no law‑enforcement agency is pursuing him.
He also said that neither he nor his legal team has received any invitation, summons, warrant or correspondence from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
“Our attention has been drawn to yet another publication alleging that a court has ordered the arrest of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji,” the statement read. “We wish to state unequivocally that Chief Nnaji is not in hiding and has never evaded any law‑enforcement agency.”
The statement added that Nnaji has lived for years at his residences in Asokoro, Abuja, and Independence Layout, Enugu, both of which are well known to relevant authorities.
According to the statement, neither Nnaji nor his legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has received any formal communication from the ICPC regarding the allegations.
It also disclosed that Nnaji is already before the Federal High Court in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1909/2025—a case he initiated to seek judicial clarification on issues relating to his academic records, including the release of his transcript.
The statement added that the matter is still pending before the court and has not yet been determined.
