Akpabio Wins APC Primary for Akwa Ibom North‑West Senate Seat

The Senate President Godswill Akpabio has been elected as the sole All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the party’s primary for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.

The primary was held on Monday in advance of the 2027 general elections.

According to DAILY POST, Akpabio is currently serving as the 15th president of the Nigerian Senate.

He first entered the Senate as the representative for Akwa Ibom North-West in 2015, was defeated in the 2019 senatorial elections, and returned to office after winning again in 2023.
